Rapier Carrier with Laser Destroyer
The Rapier Carrier is an automated weapons platform made mobile by an integral track drive system. Intended for frontline operations, Rapiers are more
sturdily constructed than most field guns, with an armoured shield protecting them from small arms fire and requiring only a single crewman to operate.
The Rapier’s most singular feature is the presence of an inbuilt reactor which allows the carrier to mount diverse powerful energy weapons of various
kinds, although a laser destroyer array — a relatively rare weapon design dating back to the era of the Great Crusades — it is almost exclusively found on
examples in service in the 41st Millennium.

Laser Destroyer Array
The laser destroyer is a powerful reactor-charged anti-tank weapon
that uses multiple laser generators to fire staggered, near simultaneous
blasts of energy focused on a single target point. This
has the effect of boring through the densest armour in a series of
powerful impacts micro-seconds apart, enabling the weapon to
breach the most well-protected tank or shatter an armoured bulkhead
in a single blazing volley.

Explosive Demise
Unlike other artillery, if the Rapier is destroyed by a Penetrating hit,
roll a D6. On a 4+ it explodes, just as if it had been subject to the
Explosion result on the Vehicle Damage chart.
A Rapier Battery is a Heavy Support choice for a Codex Imperial
Guard army or a Defenders of Vraks army (see Imperial Armour
Volume Five).
In addition a Rapier Battery may also be taken in a Death Korps
of Krieg Siege Regiment army (see Imperial Armour Volume Five)
as an Elites choice (in which case its crew have an identical profile
to the Death Korps crewmen listed for the army at no additional
cost).
